My father is doing some geneology research and came across a couple of names from our family on the passenger list. We are trying to find out if these individuals are related. Mr. Phillip J. Stokes (2nd class passenger, did not survive). First class passengers – Mrs. A.T. Compton, Miss. S.P. Compton (both survived and were rescued in Lifeboat #14 I believe) and Mr. A.T. Compton who did not survive. Some time ago I found a site which included a list of those buried in the various cemetary’s at Halifax, I have tried finding it to see if perhaps Phillip Stokes might be buried there, thinking this would be a way to trace a possible familial link to no avail, Elisabeth Wadman
About This Site
This website relates to the story of the Titanic. The Grand Ocean liner sank during its maiden journey on April 15, 1912. The death toll was 1523 of the 2228 passengers and crew members aboard. There were only 705 that survived. But there is more to the story of the Titanic than just the sinking. There is the connection people feel when they open their hearts to the event. Then there is also the Children of the Titanic, the people that are related to a person aboard the ship. In all reality anyone that feels connected in there heart to the Titanic somehow can be called a “Child of the Titanic”. So on that note! Welcome Aboard the Enchanted Titanic!

I am trying to trace the geneaology of Mrs Mary Eliza Compton’s husband Alexander Taylor Compton who died in the early 1900’s. He was a lawyer in New York.
Could he be a descendant of the Comptons of Prince Edward Island, who originate from Wiltshire England?
Any comments appreciated!
