{"id":371,"date":"2019-02-01T22:23:52","date_gmt":"2019-02-02T04:23:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ladykathleen.com\/?p=371"},"modified":"2019-02-25T20:01:15","modified_gmt":"2019-02-25T20:01:15","slug":"titanic","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ladykathleen.com\/poetry\/titanic\/","title":{"rendered":"Titanic"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"clear: both\"><\/div>\n<p>Nineteen-Twelve is the yesteryear,<br \/>\nUpon a grand ship filled with cheer.<br \/>\nThe upper class passengers had the finest of fine,<br \/>\nIn rooms so adorned you might think them a shrine.<\/p>\n<p>As they wander the grand ship from stem to stern,<br \/>\nNo one knew there would be cause for concern.<br \/>\nHow did they know this grand ship&#8217;s hull would be sliced,<br \/>\nLike a knife through soft butter, a big chunk of ice.<\/p>\n<p>It was a night the world remembers and never to forget,<br \/>\nThere were not enough lifeboats, which was cause for regret.<br \/>\nThe Captain did shout, &#8216;Women and children first&#8217;,<br \/>\nBefore the grand ship was submersed.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Be British, my men.&#8221; was the last orders to that brave crew,<br \/>\nBringing order out of chaos like he was saying adieu.<br \/>\nThe Captain&#8217;s final act was that of heroism and ever so brave,<br \/>\nThe life of a drowning baby he did save.<\/p>\n<p>This is the true story of the so called &#8220;unsinkable ship&#8221;,<br \/>\nThe fate of the Titanic&#8217;s maiden trip.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>Poem Style &#8211; Quatrain \/ Poem Catagory &#8211; Titanic<br \/>\nWritten by Lady Kathleen<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nineteen-Twelve is the yesteryear, Upon a grand ship filled with cheer.
