Sonnet II: Loneliness

In my own real small world of loneliness,
Memories to reminisce and compare.
Even though many are of happiness,
There are many that only bring despair

Some memories I would not change a thing,
Where others I must take caution and care
Like memories of play days in the spring
Or when you confessed to me, your affair

Only days ago I wanted an end
To the nightmare of memories I see
I was lonely when I lost my best friend
I took something to make the end of me

With one more memory of the near end,
To come back to the lonely world I spend.

Sonnet for a Friend Mike

As I start my journey anew, I dream
The steps I take now I wanted to share
I needed a friend and someone to care
I was so alone, to me it did seem
Then you wandered in, the fates did now deem
And opened your world for me if I dared

You reached out to me and captured my heart
I knew we would be friends from the very start
Heaven only knows where this road will lead
But I do know this, you are what I need
And one thing I can tell you that is true
Part of my heart does now belong to you

Sonnet III: Mirror of the Mind

Something I locked away deep down inside,
Where it will not show, and it will not grow.
It is something I feel I need to hide.
And more than that, I don’t want you to know.

I can’t let you see my blue eyes turn green
So I turn away and paint my eyes blue.
I hide it away to remain unseen
Deep in my mind, so it will not imbue.

Just like a clinging vine on a trellis
I hold tight to this. Not letting it through
Cause I don’t want you to know, how jealous
I can truly be, when it comes to you.

Don’t look into the mirror of my mind
Because this flaw I don’t want you to find.

The First Thing That Comes To Mind

What comes to mind is this: I am to write
A poem on this and I can not do it.
For in my mind there is a great big fight
On what was first to come to mind and sit.

I think it might have been a bit of wit,
But then I think it might have been a spark
So now I must decide and then submit
A poem.  Then write the poem and make my mark.

I could have picked a poem about a lark,
And told of how to flew across the room.
I could have picked a poem about the dark,
And told of how the dark can be a tomb.

As you can see I wrote this poem of this,
A mind’s first thought can be like cheese of Swiss.

Sweet Love

Sweet love of mine is gone I now can see
The thing is I do not know how it went
Away so fast like coins you have just spent
Sweet love of mine is gone I should feel free
But I feel like a cat caught in a tree.
Or like my feet are covered in cement
And there can be no way I am content
Sweet love of mine is gone away from me.

I wonder if it will return some day,
I feel it may if I do hope and pray.
If I do not dwell on the past so hard,
On how sweet love of mine was burnt and charred
It may come back to me again anew
And be sweet love again for me and you.

Victim

The feel of love is not so sweet today
As it is not where I left it this time.
I feel I lost my love in some bad way.
As like I am a victim to a crime.

One day my love was there for me to see
The next it is all gone and tossed aside
No matter how much I want, wish or plea
I know that love I had, has up and died

I still love you and I know you love me
But it will never be the same as when
Before my ears had heard the words from thee
Those small words hurt me over and again.

I wish at times I was blind to all this
For I do miss you’re love and our sweet bliss.
