Love Grows

The moment we were introduced by them
We knew that something special held us here.
As it was bigger than us both was clear
And nothing that could be torn or condemned.
It was as clear as diamonds are small gems
And it was nothing that we had to fear.
It was not made by us, it just appeared
Like flowers blooming each year from the stem.

I say, my love for you has grown each year
And each and every year it grows my dear.
As you are special on this day right now
Than you have been in days before our vows
So I now give you all my heart with love
To take with you and fit you like a glove.

Sonnet for a Friend Mike

As I start my journey anew, I dream
The steps I take now I wanted to share
I needed a friend and someone to care
I was so alone, to me it did seem
Then you wandered in, the fates did now deem
And opened your world for me if I dared

You reached out to me and captured my heart
I knew we would be friends from the very start
Heaven only knows where this road will lead
But I do know this, you are what I need
And one thing I can tell you that is true
Part of my heart does now belong to you

Sonnet III: Mirror of the Mind

Something I locked away deep down inside,
Where it will not show, and it will not grow.
It is something I feel I need to hide.
And more than that, I don’t want you to know.

I can’t let you see my blue eyes turn green
So I turn away and paint my eyes blue.
I hide it away to remain unseen
Deep in my mind, so it will not imbue.

Just like a clinging vine on a trellis
I hold tight to this. Not letting it through
Cause I don’t want you to know, how jealous
I can truly be, when it comes to you.

Don’t look into the mirror of my mind
Because this flaw I don’t want you to find.

Sonnet II: Loneliness

In my own real small world of loneliness,
Memories to reminisce and compare.
Even though many are of happiness,
There are many that only bring despair

Some memories I would not change a thing,
Where others I must take caution and care
Like memories of play days in the spring
Or when you confessed to me, your affair

Only days ago I wanted an end
To the nightmare of memories I see
I was lonely when I lost my best friend
I took something to make the end of me

With one more memory of the near end,
To come back to the lonely world I spend.

Sonnet I : Getting Old

I heard what you said on our wedding day,
As “I swear” was the song that was played.
Your love you swore would not be betrayed,
Even when my hair turn silver or Grey.
Now as I find some, do I need to pray?
Are you still true to the vow that you made?
And will you still be true in a decade?
The Grey hair, I wish to keep it at bay.

I wish I could stay forever young, for you.
But the signs of Grey say I’m getting old.
Grey I did pull, in its place three more grew.
As I age and if I can be so bold,
Remember your vow as if it was new.
I say I am yours to have and to hold.

Sonnet IV: A Simple Look

simplelook
Today I look upon your face so new,
although the look has shown before this day.
This look, my love, is new for me. To view
this something special; yes, my heart does sway.

The beat my heart does make is skipped once more
astounding every fiber of my soul.
When looking into eyes I do adore,
A feeling that is so, beyond control.

My heart and eyes are working overtime.
I feel this look is more than just a look
like something more, like making hearts to chime.
With this I say, “My soul you did unhook.”

A simple look from you is all it takes,
To make my heart and soul feel no mistakes
