Romantic Beginnings

From across the crowded room, I see him standing there,
And no one else in the room can even compare,
From what I can see he is handsome and debonair.

He nods and he smiles, but he never says a thing,
I look at his hands to see if he is wearing a ring.

Suddenly my friends say it is time to go,
And where did the man go, I do not know,
Wasnt he there just a few minutes ago?

A few weeks go by, and I think of this man,
To go back to this place is what I now plan.

I wear my best dress to maybe catch his eye,
As I see him at the door I suddenly get shy,
He smiles and he nods, he makes my mood fly.

Later in time he buys me a drink,
I must go thank him is what I think.

I get up the courage to follow him out the door,
I say hello, he says I have seen you before,
Your hair was up and I even know what you wore.

Now it is my number he wants to obtain,
And he said I don*t want to lose you again.

We laugh and talk, I like you he does say,
My friends have to go, but he asks me to stay,
I really like him as well, so I tell him okay,

He makes me feel special when he holds me this night,
And I say a little prayer that it all turns out alright.

Oldest Memories

I

Oldest memories of a time long ago
I thought was just a dream set aglow.

Water surrounds the world I see
and it was closing in on me.

The red of blood through waters deep
draw closer now with no sound to speak.

A symbol now is what does reveal and spark
A wavy shape, I see, of two white crossed marks.

II

If not a dream, then what memory
And what does this memory mean?

The truth be known in later years
That it was a memory with tears.

My oldest memories that haunts me to this day
Is of a time where death called but I got away.

For I fell into a pool as a young baby of three
And to the bottom sinking down soft and free.

As a gallant man jumped in to save the young lass
And he wore swimming trunks of red with white crosses

A thing that was in my mind now and then
that would haunt me for all time and again.

Half Full or Half Empty

I have a dilemma of sorts, and it has all to do with the heart,
I have looked up and down for a smile, but that is only the start.

In the smile I looked for a truth, as I couldn’t stand any more lies,
I asked for the honest truth, but I now feel it will be my demise.

I have found this smile and the honest truth in you,
But I find it is does at times make me feel so blue.

For now I cannot decide if I want the truth to be so bold,
To know that I am not the “ONE”, you want for all time, to hold.

Can I live with your heart being half full, and you love me for now,
Or should I see that it is half empty, as you tell me I am not right somehow.

Do I really want to live again in ignorant bliss, like I have in the past?
Not knowing I am not the “ONE”, then have the truth hit with a sudden blast.

Or do I just want to keep being told that in your heart I am just a guest.
The truth is in this dilemma I know not what will hurt less.

The Pearl

During midday the gallant King of Hearts does appear in a whirl,
In one hand a single rose and the other a necklace with a single pearl.

The King whispers the words and tries to profess,
I am not a romantic sort with any success.

Then he smiles softly and says the pearl is for the first year with you as my wife,
I will love you forever and I am glad you came into my life.

And a quickly as he came into the Queen’s place,
He was gone like the wind without a trace.

Later that eve when the moon was so clear.
The Queen drove up to the Castle that was near,

The Queen glided up the steps with delight,
As her King and her lover awaited inside with passions that night.

Again the King whispers the words and tries to profess,
I am not a romantic sort with any success

Then he smiles softly and touches the pearl around her sweet throat
and says this pearl is for the first year with you as my wife.
Then from behind him, he does show, the rest of his tote
And this string of pearls is for the rest of our life.

What is true love anyway?

I believe that true love is more than just attraction
It is more than just your heart’s yearning
I feel true love can give you satisfaction
When you work together to keep the fires burning

It is easy to fall in love with someone
But love is true when your both willing
To work through the hard times and not run
Or go looking for something more thhrilling

If you think that true love just happens to you
Without any effort, then think once more
Because true love is the desire to want to stay true
No matter who or what comes walking past your door.

What do you see when you look at me?

In this world of mine as I watch it go by,
All you want to know is who am I?

Am I what everyone sees on the outside?
Or am I really hidden somewhere deep inside?

There has been a big change happen in my life,
It turned all around and I am no more his wife.

Its been so many years since I have been alone,
But now it is time, as my children are all grown.

So who am I now, for the all the world to see?
And what do you see when you look at me?

Do you see the scared woman, which sits all alone?
As I ponder my life, not really knowing why it has gone.

Can you see when the girl reaching for something in the night?
As my bad dreams have given me such a horrible fright.

Can you hear the loneliness in my voice once in a while?
Or am I able to cover it with a sweet little smile?

Of course you dont see that, as it is locked away,
Hidden from your view each and everyday.

So who am I now, for the all the world to see?
And what do you really see when you look at me?

What do I really feel

How do I explain feeling I have never felt before,
Especially when they are feeling I can’t ignore.

These feeling come from my heart,
I have felt them from the start.

The moment I met you I knew you were rare,
And you seemed to be the answer to my prayer.

For some time I have been empty inside,
And felt I just wanted to run and hide.

You came to my life a short time ago,
And made the feeling in my heart grow.

Did God send you from the heavens above?
Could what I feel for you really be love?

What hurts is

What hurts is the way you look at me.
You imply I’m fat after loosing 16 pounds,
Then tell me how pretty the other girls are that you see.

What hurts is when I come to visit when you are down.
I find other girls are beckoned by you to come,
but you turn me away and don’t want me around.

What hurts is I put you as a priority in my life.
and I am only an option for you.
afterall shouldn’t your priority be your wife?

What hurts is the little thing you do everyday,
that put a wedge between me and you,
that make me feel like running away

Tell me Angel why am I here

(painting interpretation)
ltlion

Tell me Angel why am I here,
Tell me now, does my time draw so near?
Speak to me Angel there is nothing I fear.

As I sit here next you I ponder my fate,
I muse at your silence before it’s to late.

Tell me Angel why am I here,
Tell me now, does my time draw so near?
Speak to me Angel there is nothing I fear.

You stand there so silent it hard to relate,
So I sit here and talk while I ponder my fate.

Tell me Angel why am I here,
Tell me now, does my time draw so near?
Speak to me Angel there is nothing I fear.

Hold Onto My Heart

Waking in the morning I do declare
I feel somehow someway a change with me
Today I hold onto my heart with care

I look in the mirror and brush my hair
The change is not the type that all can see
And never can be seen with just a stare

It is for my heart and my soul to bare
Wondering now if the change will just flee
Today I hold onto my heart with care

It is something I truly want to share
For to share it would make me smile with glee
At the same time it could send me a scare

As my mind keeps telling me to beware
But my heart tells me to open the key
Today I hold onto my heart with care

If I knew you cared I would not despair
So I keep it inside not telling thee
Cause right now I don’t want to shed a tear

Today I hold onto my heart with care
