Romantic Beginnings

From across the crowded room, I see him standing there,
And no one else in the room can even compare,
From what I can see he is handsome and debonair.

He nods and he smiles, but he never says a thing,
I look at his hands to see if he is wearing a ring.

Suddenly my friends say it is time to go,
And where did the man go, I do not know,
Wasnt he there just a few minutes ago?

A few weeks go by, and I think of this man,
To go back to this place is what I now plan.

I wear my best dress to maybe catch his eye,
As I see him at the door I suddenly get shy,
He smiles and he nods, he makes my mood fly.

Later in time he buys me a drink,
I must go thank him is what I think.

I get up the courage to follow him out the door,
I say hello, he says I have seen you before,
Your hair was up and I even know what you wore.

Now it is my number he wants to obtain,
And he said I don*t want to lose you again.

We laugh and talk, I like you he does say,
My friends have to go, but he asks me to stay,
I really like him as well, so I tell him okay,

He makes me feel special when he holds me this night,
And I say a little prayer that it all turns out alright.

Honesty

The struggle of honesty in a relationship can tear it apart.
Many tell their partner they will be honest from the start. But what is honesty for one is not always honesty for the other.
Some people will draw a line for them self
then draw a different one for another.

So when someone tells you they have always been honest with you,
how are you supposed to know if it is really true?

But what is honesty for one is not always honesty for the other.
Some people will draw a line for themselves
then draw a different one for another.

If you think your being honest with your mate
Think again as they may perceive things differently.

Greed

Society of today full of greed
Does teach our children lots, which is not good.
They see the greed and they misunderstood.
The base of greed is evil spawn indeed,
They think that gold is what they need to heed
To make a life of good.  But if I could
Tell them today is it so bad, I would.
I would tell them this path do not proceed.

So turn away my children dears, and hear
What I have said.  Do not let greed get near.
Do not let greed get in your heart and soul
For once it sticks and holds it will control
Your life. Then you will be no good you see
For evil will control the life of thee.

Giving or Sacrificing

There is a big differance between Giving and Sacrificing.
Giving from the heart is overflowing and feels so good,
Sacrificing is filled with resentment and brings you down.In my past, I think, I sacrificed myself to make others happy,
where now I give the happiness in my heart which makes people smile
I feel this makes me a better person for my friends to be around.

Giving from the heart is one of the most joyful things we can do
and in return the giving and happiness comes right back at you.

In sacrificing yourself, you are actually saying, “I will do without”
But when you give of yourself you are sharing without a doubt.

And when your feeling a joy from within, you don’t even have to think,
It feels like a natural overflow, and the world is in sync.

Thank you so much for the happiness you share with me,
because I have so much more to give, and that is the key!

Chatty Cathy

I made my Dad laugh and roll on the floor.
As he came home with a gift from the mall.
‘Chatty Cathy’ was my most favorite toy.
Both Doll and I were only three feet tall.

As I opened the gift, and saw my new friend.
All you could hear was a cry of joy.
Both Doll and I were only three feet tall.
‘Chatty Cathy’ was my most favorite toy.

My dad thought is was silly to see.
when I worried more that my doll might fall.
‘Chatty Cathy’ was my most favorite toy.
Both Doll and I were only three feet tall.

I talked and I talked and never did stop.
Just like my new friend, that I now did enjoy.
Both Doll and I were only three feet tall.
‘Chatty Cathy’ was my most favorite toy.

Note:From that day on my fathers nick name for me was Chatty Kathy.
My real name is Kathleen and I love to talk.

Little Leprechaun

leprechaunZZ Little green man that’s not very tall,
Is so small it tends to enthrall.
They say I am in an intoxicated state,
This might be true. I will not debate.
Let my home-brew poteen be your guide,
Everyone knows it’s my joy and my pride.

Luck O’ Irish, this I have with pride,
Especially with crocks of gold I do hide.
Pots and crocks of gold, you do pursue,
Rainbows, rainbows, is my big clue,
Even if you think you can find my
Crock of gold, It’s mine to have and to hold.
Having a trick that is special to me,
All you will get is ashes, don’t you see.
Understand this when next we do meet,
Nothing is faster than my small tiny feet.

More Alone

Recently we moved to a new place,
And being new anywhere is very hard.
But it’s even harder when you don’t know
The language they are speaking all the time.
This problem can make you feel very alone
When you don*t understand what they say at all.

So maybe you can listen and watch them all,
From you own little corner of this new place.
A person goes by with a dog walking alone,
You wave to say hello, even doing that is hard,
Because you know it might be just a matter of time,
Before they find out what you don*t know.

But for now you a safe, cause they don’t know
That the words they speak you don’t know at all.
But you know it will show the very first time,
They try to converse with you in this new place.
But you get some nerve and tell yourself; it’s not hard,
And you try to overcome the feeling of being alone.

So again you sit on the porch all alone,
And start to get comfortable with the area you know,
As that person comes out the house slamming the door hard.
At this point you hope they don’t notice you at all,
And you lucky, as they start working around their place,
They stop that and start washing their car this time.

So you relax and get comfortable again over time,
So music starts to play, but it makes you feel more alone.
As it does not use your words, but music from this new place.
So you convince yourself, it is OK cause one day I will know
And maybe then I won’t feel like an outcast at all,
But for the moment this is all very hard.

Suddenly the music is so very loud and hard,
So you go into the house for some quiet time
But the music is blaring and inside is not quiet at all
But you can’t tell them to lower the music, cause you’re alone
And nothing of the language do you know.
So all you can do for now just wait and put up with this place.

It is so hard, to be on you’re own and alone,
But over some time, you will come to know,
That you’re not at all – alone in your new place

Oldest Memories

I

Oldest memories of a time long ago
I thought was just a dream set aglow.

Water surrounds the world I see
and it was closing in on me.

The red of blood through waters deep
draw closer now with no sound to speak.

A symbol now is what does reveal and spark
A wavy shape, I see, of two white crossed marks.

II

If not a dream, then what memory
And what does this memory mean?

The truth be known in later years
That it was a memory with tears.

My oldest memories that haunts me to this day
Is of a time where death called but I got away.

For I fell into a pool as a young baby of three
And to the bottom sinking down soft and free.

As a gallant man jumped in to save the young lass
And he wore swimming trunks of red with white crosses

A thing that was in my mind now and then
that would haunt me for all time and again.

To My Son

jon_army

I miss you, my son, when you are so far away in the overseas land.
I miss you, my son, when you are so far away in the overseas land.
Even though you are grown up now I still miss you being around.
Even though you are grown up now I still miss you being around.
You are grown up, though you are so far away in the overseas land.
Now my son, I still miss you being around, even when I miss you.

I am very proud of you, my son, as you defend us here at home.
I am very proud of you, my son, as you defend us here at home.
While your fighting to keep us safe, I am your mother and worry so.
While your fighting to keep us safe, I am your mother and worry so.
As your mother I worry while your fighting to keep us safe,
And you defend us here at home, my son, I am so very proud of you

So as you go to sleep tonight, remember my words with love,
So as you go to sleep tonight, remember my words with love,
“I love you and miss you with all my heart and may it keep you safe.”
“I love you and miss you with all my heart and may it keep you safe.”
So with all my heart go to sleep tonight and you remember my words
As it may keep you safe, with love, “I love you and miss you.”

With all my heart I miss you, my son and I am very proud of you,
Even though you are grown up now you are so far away in the overseas land,
When you’re fighting to keep us safe as you defend us here at home.
While worry so, I am your mother, my son, as I still miss you being around,
Remember my words with love as you go to sleep tonight,
And may it keep you safe, “I miss you and love you.”

Reflections of the Past

It was a desperate time when despair was consuming,
It seemed as nothing in the world was real.
Only a short time before most everything seemed good.
Then everything in the whole world lost its appeal.

To explain how one can cause extreme pain to another
with only a few words would be fruitless indeed.
So know this, at one point in my life this did happen to me
Then my mind, at that moment, could do nothing but concede.

To concede, to give up, to loose control of one’s mind
To feel lost in a world, to be so alone, to feel empty inside.
These are all things that bring about the final despair,
With only one thought, wanting the pain to subside.

Some go past the point, where it is all in the mind,
That is what I did, but thanks to my son I am not dead.
For it was his voice I heard, from half way around the world,
I love you Mom, don’t leave Me., is all he said.
