Photographs and Memories

Carnevale

What happens when some memories are gone,
and in your life you just moved on.

Maybe something happened back then,
and you just don’t want to remember it again.

What happens to the memories you had,
when you locked them away for a tad.

They’re not really gone for good,
like I thought they would.

Some of my memories came back to life,
but they now don’t cut me like a knife.

Now the good memories forgotten by mistake,
are beginning to awake

So now as I stumble across a photograph or a song of long ago times
The memories in my mind begin to chime.

About Ladykathleen

I am a Website Designer, but I love to write for fun. My passion is writing poerty as well as other things. I hope you have enjoyed my poems. And perchance there was one that made you smile or made you think, well then my job is done. I also have tryed my hand at writing a book, well more a fable, and instead of publishing through normal channels I have decided to give a copy to anyone that donates to help run my sites, You can find out more about this in the side panel of this blog. Thank you again for visiting.

What a facinating blog. I’ve bookmarked it and added your feed to my RSS Reader

This is a lovely poem…particularly poignant for me at this time of year.

‘Some of my memories came back to life,
but they now don’t cut me like a knife.

Now the good memories forgotten by mistake,
    are beginning to awake’

I look forward to the day when that happens for me…tomorrow marks five years since a dear friend left this world, and I’m still haunted by some of the detail, even though we never knew one another properly…came to know one another online, and never had the chance to meet.

Anyway, I look forward to reading more of your poetry- are you by any chance participating in National Blog Posting Month?

    Best wishes,

    Casey B
